Unity of Northwest Indiana is part of the worldwide Unity movement. We are located on 20 acres of beautiful wooded property in Dyer, Indiana. Unity offers a positive path for spiritual living by teaching spiritual principles and practices to apply in daily life. Many who are part of our Unity community consider themselves spiritual but not religious.
Unity honors all paths to God and everyone is welcome to participate in our services, classes, programs and events. We actively support diversity and do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, creed, religions, nationality, sexual orientation, ethnicity or physical disability. Our Board of Trustees and Ministry Teams reflect our wonderful diversity.
Our Vision
Centered in God, we celebrate a world of love, peace and abundance for all creation.
Our Mission
We are a dynamic spiritual community expressing universal principles and empowering transformation.
Our Values
- Compassion
- Love
- Authentic
- Spirit-Centered
- Inclusive
Our Five Unity Principles
- God is all there is and present everywhere. This is the force of love and wisdom that underlies all of existence.
- Human beings are divine at their core and therefore inherently good.
- Thoughts have creative power to determine events and attract experiences.
- Prayer and meditation keep us aligned with the one great power in the universe.
- It is not enough to understand spiritual teachings. We must live the truth we know.
Who We Are
- Founded by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1889.
- Grew out of Transcendentalism in the mid-1800s and became part of a spiritual movement called New Thought.
- Founded and based in prayer, we believe that every person is an expression of God and our thoughts have creative power.
- We offer inspiration and tools for spiritual transformation through Sunday Services (online and in-person), classes, prayer and publications from Unity Worldwide Ministries.
